Mercersburg

An Extraordinary Athletic Tradition

client: Mercersburg Academy | published: 2010

William Mann Irvine, himself only a recent graduate of Princeton University and member of that institution’s storied football team, founded Mercersburg Academy in 1893, embracing the importance of a scholastic and athletic balance in the educational experience. His ideals of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play endured throughout a century of Mercersburg’s legacy of championships in multiple sports, with forty-four Mercersburg students having gone on to become Olympians. An Extraordinary Athletic Tradition is a companion book in an elegantly slip-cased set presented to alumni and donors.

“From the beginning, Grandin Hood understood our school’s fundraising and donor recognition goals. Their creative team exhibited enthusiastic professionalism in producing a beautiful book, which perfectly supports these initiatives. We are excited to share this magnificent work with our alumni, parents, and friends.”
